Lack of...

Internet choices. Sigh... Since I'm staying in a hostel, I cannot apply for Streamyx because I would need a telephone line for that. So, my only options are mobile or wireless broadbands. Why now, you wonder? Well, I've been using Izzi for the past 2 years. And it seems to get worse and worse as times passes. So, if possible, I don't want to continue using their services.

So, the internet hunt begins. Went asking around about the available options. Which have reasonable speeds, most value for money and convenient. My first choice was P1 Wimax. Unfortunately, I can't get the signal from my room! My roomate's friend loaned us a P1 unit over a weekend. Both of us tried locating a signal, but we failed miserably. SIGH. Why is this happening? :(

So, only other choices left would be the mobile broadbands. Was a decision between Celcom and Digi. My roomate happened to apply for the Digi one. So I borrowed hers and checked out the speed. Around 900kbps. Which is good in my book (Izzi used to clock 200+ kbps. See why I'm pissed?). And it costs Rm58 per month. If compared to Celcom's RM98 per month. Roomate said that her friends used to use Celcom, but they switched to Digi coz they found that faster. So, decided on Digi in the end. Plus, Digi offers a Campus plan which means I get the modem free. The major MAJOR gripe I have with Digi (and all the other mobile broadbands) is the 3GB monthly quota.

Dude....! I don't want to budget the time I'm allowed to spend on the internet! I've always liked to just leave my laptop on with MSN on, whether I'm actually there or not is irrelevant. Ugh. I also like to video call and leave it running. Sigh... Now that option is shot. But, I've no choice in the matter now. Already subscribed to Digi. Now using Izzi to the max before they cut me off.

Retrictions, restrictions, restrictions.
